Accessibility at Fruoom
We want fruoom.com to work for everyone, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or other assistive technology.
How we build the site
We build the store with accessibility in mind rather than adding an overlay on top of it. In practice that means:
- Semantic headings, landmarks, and lists, so the page structure makes sense when it is read aloud rather than looked at.
- Navigation, buttons, and forms that can be operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline showing where you are.
- Descriptive alternative text on images that carry meaning, and empty alt text on images that are purely decorative.
- Text sized in relative units, so the site reflows when you zoom or increase your default font size.
- Colour used as an accent rather than as the only way information is conveyed, with text contrast checked against its background.
- Animation kept minimal and reduced further when your device requests reduced motion.
- Form fields with real labels, and errors reported in text rather than by colour alone.
Where we are
We test as we build, but we have not completed a formal third-party accessibility audit, so we will not claim the site meets a particular conformance level. Parts of the store also depend on Shopify's checkout and on third-party tools we do not control.
We would rather hear about a problem than assume there isn't one.
Tell us what isn't working
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible to use, email hello@fruoom.com. It helps if you can tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using — but tell us either way, even if you don't have those details.
We read every message, we will reply, and we will work with you to get you what you needed in the meantime — including taking an order by email if that is easier.
